From fastest acting to slowest acting we are going to discuss the different types of CBD products and what they are best suited for. As with all CBD you should check that the product you are receiving is 3rd Party Tested to ensure quality and effectiveness. At Cloud 9 Cafe we proudly 3rd Party Test all our products.
Vaping and Smoking
This is the quickest delivery method of CBD because it goes directly to the lungs where it is absorbed into the body. You will typically be able to find CBD Vape Cartridges or CBD/Hemp flower that is smokable. These products are best suited for people who are okay with inhaling vapor/smoke in order to receive almost immediate effects; it produces a full body effect that grants relief in the areas you are looking for.
2. Tinctures and Beverages The second quickest delivery method of CBD is taken by dropping the oil underneath your tongue and letting it sit there for 30-60 seconds to be absorbed by a main artery. Tinctures are typically made with a Vegetable glycerin, coconut oil, or MCT oil and can have natural or artificial flavors to be more palpable. They are easy to take and typically come with a labeled dropper to accurately measure out your dose of CBD. In most cases you also get the best bang for your buck with this product.
3. Edibles - Baked Goods and Capsules While edible CBD may not be the fasting acting form, it is typically the longest lasting as the body fully digests whatever the CBD is infused in. You can typically find these in gummies, baked goods, and other treat forms as well. Edibles are easily integrated into daily life and are packaged to easily eat. The options are almost limitless with what you can buy, just make sure you get the right product and factor in how long it takes for the effects to kick in.
4. Topicals and Patches This can include products like salves, balms, oil, and other beauty products. Topicals and patches are great for pinpoint application such as sore joints and muscles and are a great option for those who do not want to ingest or smoke CBD. These act slower as they need to make it through your layers of skin before taking effect, but provide relief in the specific location you are looking for. Make sure to find a texture that you are comfortable with working with as some topicals are oily while others are pasty.
