What is CBD?
CBD is an acronym for Cannabidiol (Can-a-bid-i-ol), a prominent naturally occurring class of molecules called cannabinoids found in the plant genus Cannabis Sativa L. CBD is a non- psychoactive component of the plant that possesses a wide range of benefits and does not cause a high, unlike THC. It comprises up to 40% of the plant and is one of over 60+ compounds found in cannabis. Of these compounds, CBD and THC are usually present in the highest concentrations and are therefore the most recognized and studied. Our bodies are made up of an endocannabinoid system and use cannabinoids to maintain healthy cells.
What does CBD do?
CBD is naturally produced in the body with a system known as the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS is known to work with your central nervous system to help relieve pain, increase inflammatory response and ease stress. Working alongside the ECS, CBD helps brings your body to homeostasis to begin the healing process using CB1 and CB2 receptors all over your body. For example: endocannabinoids might target CB1 receptors in a spinal nerve to relieve pain. Others might bind to a CB2 receptor in your immune cells too.
What can CBD help with?
CBD has helped assist some people’s problems but does not promise to fix all human problems. CBD is more beneficial when used as a supplement to elevate your life and the lives of other people. Here is a small list of potential benefits:
Natural pain relief and anti-inflammatory properties
Quitting smoking and drug withdrawals
Epilepsy and reducing seizures
Fighting cancer and promoting bone growth
Reduced anxiety and nausea
Improves quality of sleep
Can you get high from CBD?
CBD Isolate and Broad-Spectrum CBD contain no levels of THC which means that you will not get high if you consume these sources of CBD. Full Spectrum CBD contains 0.3% THC. You will not truly feel the effects of being high but you will have traces of THC in your system.
How should I store my CBD topicals?
For the best shelf life please store in a cool dark area, this will assure there is no loss in potency. Don’t allow to sit in direct sunlight. If properly stored CBD has around a 1-year shelf life!
Will I fail a drug test if I take CBD products?
The CBD isolate in our product contains CBD which is a LEGAL cannabinoid from hemp. Cloud 9 Cafe cannot guarantee that you will or will not pass a drug screen due to the amount of variables. CBD will show up on a drug screening if the person screening is looking for hemp. Drug screens vary and some can be more sensitive than others.
